It’s not just Rebecca “Too Many Hispanics” Forest and the extremists at IRCOT who have been emboldened by anti-immigrant, anti-Hispanic proposals like SB9.

The Austin Immigrant Rights Coalition has been getting hate mail and hysterical, racist voice mail since video surfaced of Sen. Chris Harris’ outburst during public testimony on SB9. Antolin Aguirre, of AIRC, explained to the committee members that he wished to speak Spanish during his testimony against the ban on so-called “sanctuary cities.” Aguirre was interrupted by Sen. Harris who pointed and angrily told Agiurre that he felt his speaking in Spanish was “an insult.” Video of the ugly incident has gone viral.

Predictably, Sen. Harris’ intolerant comments have brought people with anti-immigrant beliefs out of the woodwork. These sad people have taken his comments as license to air their general anger at Hispanics. Below are some of the messages AIRC has received.
