Write to your Rep.

Our legislators count on us to tell them what our policy priorities are. So, write to them to educate them about the need for comprehensive immigration reform in Texas.

Here are the steps.

1. Find out who your U.S. House Representative is by entering your address in the Who Represents Me Web site. Texans are represented in the U.S. Senate by Senators Kay Bailey Hutchison and John Cornyn.

2. Write down the mailing address, or call the number to ask for an email address.

3. Draft your letter. It is better to use your own words and to speak of personal experience and personal conviction.

4. Address your representative with respect, using the following formulas.

To Your Senator:

The Honorable (full name)
(Room #) (Name) Senate Office Building
United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510

Dear Senator,

My name is (Name) and I live in Texas. I am writing today to tell you….
