CIR-ASAP Welcome El Paso

On December 15, 2009, RITA members in El Paso welcomed Rep. Luis Gutierrez’s comprehensive immigration reform bill with a rally and a press conference. Among the 150 participants were El Paso Sheriff Richard Wiles, Father Arturo Banuelas, a representative from Rep. Silvestre Reyes’ office, and representatives from non-profits such as the Paso Del Norte Civil Rights Project, the Sierra Club, the ACLU-New Mexico, and Project Puente, as well as community members from El Paso.
