National Day of Action photos

IMGP0845On October 13, 2009, a group of 80 RITA representatives, community members from Austin, Arlington, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Brownsville, El Paso, San Juan and Harlingen, participated in the first major push for immigration reform in two years in our nation’s capital.

They joined hundreds of families from other states’ delegations in visiting congressional offices to educate officials about the need for more fair, humane and sensible immigration policies. Then they gathered for a rally organized by Reform Immigration for America in front of the Capital building.

There, they heard from U.S. Rep. Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., about his plans to introduce an immigration reform bill in mid-December.
